Lost!

I recently read the chapter "Moon Lady." I enjoyed reading this chapter because it was suspenseful. The character Ying-ying was fun to read about. She smears the blood of the fish on her clothes to cover up spots of dirt and blood, which I thought was hilarious. This reveals that she is a careless young girl who doesn't think before she acts. The main conflict in this chapter human vs. society. It is between Ying-ying and her culture because the author spends a lot of time showing us how Ying-ying doesn't understand the old traditions and practices of the moon festival. The theme of this chapter is to stay alert and think before you act. The scenes that show this are when she falls off the boat as well as when she smears blood on her clothes.
